that’s just stupid, iraq isn’t even that big a producer of oil, and nowhere near our largest provider. if people still think we went over there for the oil, take a look at the barrel prices, nothings’ changed cause iraq is a tiny player in the world oil game, tiny

So the American government invaded out of the goodness of their hearts?

“Iraq holds more than 112 billion barrels of oil - the world’s second largest proven reserves. Iraq also contains 110 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and is a focal point for regional and international security issues.”
–thats what the US government org.-Energy Information Agency- has to say about iraq oil…

whoops sir, we get most of our oil from canada which has a reserve of 179 billion barrels of oil, just a scant few more than iraq i suppose, but then there’s saudi reserves at 260 billion. also of great note saudi isn’t ever touched by america for this reason (ie just read an article about a saudi girl being killed because she was messaging a man on facebook, no response from any world leaders about that, not with saudi arabia being most peoples main source of oil).

oil is just one of the many reasons the us government is telling us they’re there. remember when focal point number one was saddam and his WMD’s (though i truly believe someone somewhere in the middle east has these things, i mean it is a desert after you can hide stuff pretty good, like say osama). iraq is by no means or way americas main source of oil, looking at the numbers why would we care. we’re hurt much more by the actions in south america currently than any shortage of oil production in iraq could ever do (most notably venezuela).

next time if you want to go scouring the internet for pretty links to throw at me, do some thorough research on the topic.

senna, no i don’t think they did it out of the goodness of their hearts, though i’d more believe the conspiracy theory that this was all a bush family feud (don’t discount the embarrassment papa bush felt from what saddam got away with early 90s). i think there are many reasons, all relegated currently to conspiracy theory because of lack of concrete evidence, as to why we invaded iraq. the biggest one goes back to crack boy here. what was the nationality of most of the terrorists involved in the WTC? saudi right? yeah, so why didn’t we invade saudi arabia too? we had just as much reason too? oh but hell all them middle easterns all look alike right?
